Welcome to Byron bay!! And Surfers Paradise!

The 14 hour bus journey was better than expected i managed to sleep most of the journey, uncomfortably but at least it was sleep! So we arrived in Byron bay and it was poring down! Great start to the day then! We were staying at a hostel called the Art's Factory....What a cool place, it was very hippy like and had some very strange people there. It was defiantly for the Arty type! People carried around their guitars and randomly started playing, other people would join.. before you knew it there was a mass Kumba-ar Session going on with a full band and camp fire, Then the none musical type we just hanging in hammocks stoned....All very peace Man! As for us, we didn't fit into any of the groups so just stood out like a sore thumb! All good thou! We had our own private bit at the back of the hostel ( i actually think we were outboasted up there as we were to Normal!) We had a mouse in the room,a massive spider and big turkey outside but it was nice and cosy having a little hut to ourselves! So the monsoon rain lasted for 2 days and we were litteraly stuck in the hostel. When it stopped , we headed out to explore Bryon it's a big hippy town still in the 70's its amazing! Everyone is a hippy and has dreads! There are Shops called ' The happy herb store', shops selling healing stones everywhere! Seriously it's hippy paradise! The weather cleared, and for the rest of the week it was boiling so we sunbathed on the beach everyday! At night we had our faithfull GOON and partied in the local hangout 'Cheeky Monkeys' Were it is customary to dance on the tables! By the end of the week we were Defiantly feeling the LOVE and i now want to save the planet.... Make peace not war.

Next stop surfers paradise!!

After a nice short bus ride we got to Surfers Paradise, Ummm A little different to Byron. Surfers is a really built up Very tacky town.. A mixture of Blackpool and Miami! Here we stayed in a Hotel/hostel so we had a pool..easily pleased! We spent the day there then did a pub crawl in the evening! Which was a massive con! The next day we sunbathed on the beach and went out again in the evening! All becoming very boring! Surfers was OK but not the Paradise i was expecting!
