After a a semi lay in, We are on the bus again heading to Taupo. It was raining so most of the days activity's had been cancelled due to the bad weather. We couldn't skydive on this day because of Rain, But we still went to the centre to book our selves in for tomorrow! The rest of that afternoon was relativity uninteresting. We did some food shopping, As the budget is quickly deteriorating We stocked up on dinners, So i am now carting around cans of soup, bake beans, bread, cereal, fruit Etc.! Oh the joys of travelling! In theory we have bought a weeks worth of food, so we shouldn't have to buy any food, Umm watch this space on that! That evening we decided to go out and party a little, as we had a day off the kiwi the next day so didn't have to get up at stupid o'Clock! We had a really good/drunken night out! The whole new crew we have was out, so was a brilliant night! Me and rose ended up getting MacDonald's at 3am ( there goes the bought food already!!) The next day - sky diving day! We woke up to lovely weather , so we knew it would be defiantly on, The bus picked us up at 12 and took us to the Airfield. We had to wait a while then it was time to get into your jump suit! Ok i have a emotional deficiency were i don't get scared of anything really, But at this point it did start to register.... 'i am jumping out of plane 15,000 feet in the air This is a really stupid idea'! Rosie had to go in the plane before us, bless her on her own! Next was me and Sarah. Four jumpers,Four instructors and four camera men all squeeze into the smallest plane in the world and take off for the 20 minute flight to 15,000 FT!! As you have no perception of time of height up there, I was sure were we almost at the height we needed. I asked the instructor And he laughed and said no this is on 5,000 ft, Jesus bloody Christ that was high enough but i had another 10,000 to go! The tiny plain was nerve racking enough, Tossing and turning , but then they make you put on a oxygen mask!!... A f***ing OXYGEN MASK!! Because the air is too thin at this bloody ridiculous height we are at! That says it all, if you need a oxygen mask to breathe up there don't go up there! The instructor starts strapping me to himself, And the door opens! This must be it!!!! Sarah was out first one sec she was there then Swwooop..she was gone! I was 2nd to last, As you are strapped to the front of the instructor, as he sits on the edge of the plane, you are already dangling off the edge! Its weird you don't fell your that high as your are above the clouds that is all you can see! Like 2 seconds later We Jump........WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The most amazing feeling i have ever felt in my entire life, You literally feel like you are flying! TRUELY INCREADIBLE. We Free Fall for about 50 seconds, I really don't have the words to describe how this feels and how fantastic it is! It is slighty hard to breathe and i kept thinking my goggles were going to fall off but... God i felt superhuman! After the free fall he pulls the cord and out shoots the parachute, it pulls you back up a bit. Then you peacefully glide down (Well peacefully at 60mph) to the ground .This bit was just as amazing as the first bit, as you catch your breathe and look around and really appreciate the height and what you are actually doing! Like I said I can't describe in words this experience but when I get back I'll show you the DVD ( which if I can work out how to do, I will put on here) You will think it looks amazing well times that by a million and that's almost a bit of what I felt , Because I was doing it ! We landed down and I was just full of Adrenaline , The landing part is a bit of a blur! Anyway I am Now desperate to do it again, Sod the budget!! Think we are going to do it again in Oz. When i get back and have more money I want to learn to sky dive so I can do it Solo. I am hooked!!! If you only ever do one crazy thing in your life trust me...SkyDive!!!!
