We arrived in Franz early afternoon! Oh my god it was freezing there, probably had something to do with the gigantic Ice Glaciers everywhere, That we were going to climb!! We Went to the booking place and booked our 8 sodding hour trek up an ice glacier! I was not very enthusiastic about this idea. We slept to hole bus journey so were feeling a lot better from the night before. So we went for a cup tea the sat in the hot tub for ages! Very laid back night that night, we had a BIG day the next day! The Next morning we were up at 8am , Guess what it was absolutely poring it down! But the trek was still happen so we headed to the place. We all got kitted up, Waterproofs, The heaviest walking boots in the world, Hats/gloves Everything! So we set of in the rain, it was an hour walk until we go to the Glacier. Not just a normal hour walk, a walk through the forest, having to walk through rivers, up water falls and climbing rocks!! We got to the bottom on the Glacier had to put on our Crampons ( the spike's that go on the bottom of your boots, so you can walk on ice) By this time i was freezing and soaked! Even through my waterproofs all my clothes were wet! So we start climbing up the glacier! I am really not the fittest person in the world and With all the equipment i must of weighed an extra 2 stone! Wet and cold and really not enjoying this! We got to the half way mark, the Guide asked if anyone wanted to go Back..One girl said yes, so as i was so bloody miserable I did to! So i gave up after 4 hours, I was slightly disappointed at myself for giving up but a 4 hour trek was enough for me, i had pushed my self to the limit physically and mentally, I have never been so cold in my life! I am still proud of my self for doing 4 hours, Not to sound silly but a block of ice is a block of ice. Apparently it looked no different from where i left to at the top! Well done to Sarah and Rosie they did the whole thing! But came back in Agony, Frozen and hated it! Which made me feel better about leaving! I am not good doing things I don't want to! That night we sat in the lanardy room for 3 hours doing washing all very boring! w***a was the next stop Nothing much happened during the day, just stoped at lots of little tourist bits enroute. That night we went out to the hostel bar , Drunken!!!
