13 hours on a plane = 4 films, Dinner, Snooze, Breakfast and a whole lot of Ipod action! We arrived in Auckland @ 6 am! We walked out of the airport , we were immediately like “ I think i am going to really like it here”It just had a really nice feel about it. We jumped on a shuttle bus and got to our hostel! We couldn't check in till 12 so we went and had some breakfast at the cafe opposite! It Had English food , we got every excited about baked beans!! We then slept on the sofa's in the hostel reception , until 12 then went to our rooms! We had another little snooze then went for a walk round the town, possibly maybe did a tiny weeny bit of shopping!! That night we went to a really nice Mexican for dinner! The next day we decided to be pro active and get up early and do something! So after breakfast We went to the harbour and caught a ferry over to a little island called Devon-port. We climbed a massive Hill ( i want to say mountain because it sounds better!) It was hard work but the views at the top were worth it, you could see the whole of Auckland! It was quite an achievement as we are not the fittest people in the world! We just sat taking in the scenery for a while then headed back down to the little Victorian village. We had an sat and had a ice cream, then headed back to the city on the ferry. That night we went out for a few drinks at the local backpackers bar. The next day we had a city tour booked but God did it poor down, so our tour got cancelled. So we had lunch and chilled at the hostel, that evening we went out again for a relativity low key evening! The next day was the first day off our Kiwi Experience, We travelled up to Paihia, about 3 ½ hours north of Auckland. Its a lovely little place kind of a tropical but a side side resort at the same time! We sat n the beach for the rest of the afternoon and had the hostel BBQ in the evening. It's very laid back in Paihia, there is not a great amount to do of an evening , so everyone just sits out side the hostel bar chatting etc. Day 2 in Paihia was a hardcore sunbathing day, Nothing more to say on that! We cooked our selves a curry in the evening. The 3rd day we had a full day boat trip planned, It took us around the islands, off Paihia there is 'The bay of islands' Which consists of 144 islands, We also found a massive pod of dolphins, we had paid extra to swim with the dolphins but the pod we found had babies with them , you cant swim if there are baby dolphins. It was still absolutely incredible to see, i have seen dolphins in places like sea world but never in the wild! The swim along side the boat for a ages! We then stopped for lunch on a little island, it was like Paradise! Then we were taken to see 'The whole in the rock' Which is exactly what it says on the Tin ,a massive rock that over the years has corroded and has a perfect hole in , the boat drove through! We also saw some sea caves, then people on the boat then released the big fishing net that you could jump into and the boat pulled you a long! It was fun but hard work trying to hold on, There were a few points were i almost lost my entire bikini! I now feel i truly know what it feels like to be a fish! The trip was Well worth doing, even thou we couldn't swim with the dolphins and didn't get to see any killer whales but i am sure i'l get to at some point! Again another BBQ at the hostel that evening. Me, Sarah and a couple of guys took a walk along the beach at midnight, which was really beautiful. Its not until your away and there is less Smog in the sky that you really apericate how pretty the stars can be! I Think i am getting old! I am starting to like walks on the beaches and stars!! Tomorrow we are back on the kiwi, stopping off the night back in Auckland! The off again at 8:15!
