So to get into Australia you need to have a visa! Check! STA sorted that for us we gave them our details and paid for it! We got to fiji airport an extra hour early to allow for 'Fiji Time'. When we checked the lady walked off then came back and said sorry you don't have a visa! What??? An hour an half later, lots of begging and pleading and the lady looking on the system. She found Rosie had a visa, all good so she could check in! Another half hour later she found the problem for mine and Sarah's. STA had messed up and put my name and Sarah's under the same passport number!! Therefore both our visa's were not valid. They told us to go on the internet and reapply. We searched for internet access,logged on but found out we cant apply on the net as we were from the uk! Great it was only 40 mins till the plane let!! Back to more begging and pleading then! With 20 minutes till the plane left , Rosie got on the plane (we were meeting kath at oz airport so someone had to go!) 10 minutes until the plane took off and Loads of begging . They said they could get us another visa but is was going to cost us $100 each! Sod it we paid it! 9Am on the dot the plane was due to leave and me and Sarah are still at check in! The system wasn't refreshing to say we had valid visa's. The lady at check in told us they were trying to hold the plane but it was doubtful we would be getting on it! 9:20 the visa's come through...GOGOGO!!! We were running through the airport accompanied by security guard jumping us to the front of passport control etc. It was like a comedy sketch!! RunRun.....We were running down the runway and the plane was actually Beeping at us!!! My lungs were collapsing but hell yeah we made it!! A few hours later we were in OZ. We Then had a big emotional reunion with kath! We sat in the airport for hours catching up..then realised we better actually find a cab and go to our hostel! That night, as it was our first night we Celebrated!! The next day we went to see the bridge and the opera house, All very cool. It funny the novelty of seeing these amazing sites is wearing off. It's kinda becoming the norm now ..oh look it the Sydney opera house ..got a picture next...!! The following day was Easter Sunday so we went to darling harbour , as they had a Easter festival on. Darling harbour is really pretty and has street performers so it was a really good day. We sat in a bar had some hot cross buns to get in the Easter spirit. As the sun was shinning the following day we got the ferry to Manley beach! We did what we do best Sunbathed all day! Cant really be bothered to write about the nights out its just the same ...Went out ...Got drunk...Felt ill the next day! The pictures speak loader than words! The following day we went to the blue mountains, it was gorgeous! Because of the plants on the mountains, it gives off a blue haze. The mountains actually look blue! While there we went on a scenic 1 hour walk down 1000! steps. OK so going down is easier than going up but god our legs were killing and shaking when we reached the bottom. So once at the bottom you have to get back up. So we got the worlds steepest train to the top! It was Really step, if I'am honest a little scary! So the hostel we were staying in was nice but a little on the expensive side so after a day of searching for cheaper, we decided to move the other side of town. We finally got to the other hostel walked through to reception and was greeted by 5 dead cockroaches nice!!!The guy asked us were we had been staying before we told him and he said i quote “ Oh i don't like the wake up hostel its to clean for me” We should have run a mile there and then but we had already booked 2 night. The rooms were even worse and it was full of absolute idiots! The next day was raining so we decided to go to the Sydney Zoo,It was good but a little disappointing as they only had one kangaroo.. Not what you expect in Australia! A beach day again the next day we headed to Cougee beach, we chilled out there for a while then took a hour and a half walk right along the coast to Bondi beach! Time we had got there the sun had gone so we just chilled some more then headed back to the hostel! After our 2 nights in what can only be described as looking like a crack den we headed straight back to our nice clean Wake up! Not just for us but we didn't want to chuck the others straight in the deep end! The next day was the big day...!We had Ellie,Steph and Chris coming out to meet us and travel with us for the next 4 months! As they wasn't coming until late we spent the day wondering around the city!(shopping!)They eventually got there,another big emotional reunion! We wasn't going to let them be tired (after a 24 hour flight!) We we handed them a big glass of Goon and told them to get ready!. 'Goon' is the drink that all travellers drink in oz ...why because it dirt cheap...$10 for a 4liter box, it also gets you very drunk. The down side is it taste horrendously disgusting ..it is supposed to be a wine, well it is, but it is filtered with milk and fish eggs! Seriously you can find remains of fish in it! Don't judge...We are on a tight budget!! So we had another excuse to party which means Another night out! The following day we took them to see the sights and we took the Jet boat around the harbour. Its a stunt boat that does all spins and goes really fast. Good fun but we got Soaked even through our waterproofs! That night we went out for dinner..We encounter our first little problem with the new group..Umm table for 7 please!!! We were very proactive the next day and sat in the travel agents sorting all our activitys for the rest of Oz. I possibly maybe booked another skydive..Whoopwhoop! All the stuff thou .£700 Ouch!! We said goodbye to Kath,she was flying back to Brisbane( we will see her again in 2 weeks) We then took over the whole kitchen and cooked our first meal as the new team....Umm again 6 plates, 6 cups, 6 sets of cutlery and one giant pot! I can see why people don't normal travel in big groups!!9pm We are on the night bus to Byron bay, 14 hours ...wonderful!! I thought I had left this long bus journey thing behind me but I guess not!..............
