We also got to go for a day trip to Philip Island, a little island just south of the city. On the trip we got up close and personal with some of Australia's creatures, feeding Kangeroos, Emus, Larmas and Wallaby's. And also getting to see Koalas, Dingos, Tassie Devils, Possums and Wombats - it was very cool.
We then went to some of the islands picturesque beaches - pure white sand and crashing surf waves. Followed by a walk over a huge amount of Penguin nests, pizza dinner and then the highlight The Penguin Parade.
The Parade is what this island is famous for... you sit and watch the smallest Penguins in the world brave to walk from the sea to their nests. Its an amazing site to see rafts of penguins some in on the surf, making sure they are completely safe before waddelling (very slowly) passed the masses of people and into their houses. Very very cool...
