It was off to Melbourne and the journey was a LONG one - down the east coast and into the mountains to avoid the floods. We left at 8am and arrived in Melbourne at 1am! Now thats a long day... we also had to leave Ange and Drew in a place called Albury and catch the Greyhound to Melbourne (but hopefully we will see them again at Christmas). We are staying at Nomads hostel - which is smack bang in the centre of the city and to be honest we were dreading the 10 person dorm we had to book (due to lack of funds). This however was a suprise, as everyone in the dorm was great, even when getting in a 4am completely smashed... The bunkbeds were very comfortable - if not a little squeaky, and it wasn't the horrific experience we had thought.
Melbourne is a gorgeous city, very easy to navigate with some great shopping - and the big news was that we found THE ONE RING - no not the Frodo/Bilbo Ring! but our engagement ring. We have coined it VERY Megan Tidey - hopefully you'll all get to see it, when we get back.
The other highlights of Melbourne included a behind the scenes Neighbours tour, where we got to walk around the set of Lastiters and all the outside sets. Then got to visit Erinsborough High, and finally Ramsey Street and go up to the houses themselves - VERY GEEKY but great photos!
